China and the UK have resumed economic and financial discussions following a six-year break.

TAIPEI, Taiwan — On Saturday, China and Britain resumed their economic and financial discussions after a six-year break, coinciding with a visit from the U.K.'s Treasury chief to Beijing. This move comes as the Labour government in the U.K. aims to mend its strained relationship with the world's second-largest economy.

Chancellor Rachel Reeves, along with a group of British business leaders and finance officials, engaged in discussions with Chinese officials, such as Vice Premier He Lifeng and Vice President Han Zheng.
